The Nick Miller Project

Nick was born in the grand year of 1982, but was born again, so to speak, the year he bought his first electric guitar. Nick has been making music for over 15 years, has spent some time studying sitar in Varanasi, India, and has shared the stage with the likes of The Del McCoury Band, Leftover Salmon, Tim Reynolds, Mecca Bodega, The Recipe, and other wonderful artists he has respect for.Nick has been playing lead guitar in bands since high school, but after many tough breakups decided to start a solo project that he could build on throughout his life. That’s when the looping pedal came into his life and gave him the power of self-replication. He has now become a psychiatrist’s nightmare as he schizophrenically switches from one instrument to the next to create a one-man-band experience that ranges in styles from funk, rock, and blues to Indian classical, hip-hop, folk, bluegrass, and whatever else he feels like playing. On one song you may hear the stylings of Doc Watson, and in the next the heavy-hitting funk of Sly and the Family Stone or perhaps a face-melting guitar solo. And then there’s the sitar…and the bowed guitar…but you’ll just have to see it to understand it and believe it.
